YOLOGO

Find the best parties near you

Yologo party  is a small start-up in event industry founded in 2015 ,  based in San Francisco, CA . We focus on delivering authentic party experience by connecting people with similar interest together. Our core product is a mobile application as a p2p platform where people can easily host and join parties. With inventive features to empower social experience, party will never be the same.

Yologo is a great tool for party hosting management,  a open, casual venue to assemble interesting people and enable them to track the activity status and keep in touch with each other. The beta version will be available in App store soon.

Party is a common social event that everybody has experience with. But that simple activity can be problematic, especially on the psychological level. In fact, few people have ever cared about how a party is formed and getting people invited. For unpopular guys, it's frustrating that they are not invited to a party very often , especially for those manshow kind. They never show that they actually want to party like a social kind does . However, please don't hate the guy who didn't invite you , it's always painful for him  to decide who to invite , he's been struggling with guessing who would be unhappy if not invited, on the other hand, responsible for arranging everything and getting everyone updated is exhausting .

" Friends are going to a party, but I'm not invited : ( "

" Should I invite her ? Who should I invite ? "

" Anyone invite me to a party ? : ( "

Our goal is to create a digital platform where users can host and join parties with an open atmosphere. Attenders may also invite their friends to the party and share status afterwards ; Also we want to design a great managing tool for hosts to update the party arrangement , instantly invite people or approve join request and get ratings from hosting events.

User :

  • Regular users: Attend events occasionally. Usually not hold or hardly hold any events.

  • Can consider showing some basic informations of each house around the photos

Administrator

  • Usually employees but could be some advanced users after big growth. Higher authorities such as manage the events to make sure they are legal, audit on the potential advanced users.

Events :

  • Events are related to the creators/host, especially the grading system.

  • Users could create some activities with date, time, location, theme, title, description, tags, payment/free, pictures/videos (3D for advanced users), and people. They could decide what information above to be shown to other users. Creators could decide if the event would require an application or open to everyone.

  • Users could view events with the pictures/videos and info shown by creators. Users could add many events into their wishlist by click on “wish to go” button.

Design iterations

We iterated our design both on system achitecture and UI interactions by doing rounds of sketches, testings and discussions.
  • Is it necessary to separate Notification as an first level page ? What information does it include ?

  • Group info should be connected to more possible linked pages, and contents within need to be specified

  • Profile page needs to be specified ; Adding function of " Nearby people " is proposed

  • Designed a hamburger bar to contain both profile link and setting options.

  • Canceled notification,  and divide Grouping into "Join group" and "my group ", let each domain receive their own notifications.

  • The perspective of group info is not well identified, Host's view ? Attender's view ?

  • Navigation design changed back to iteration 1 for it's more organized and most people won't ever use "my group"

  • Profile page's contents need to be specified

  • Logic on picture sharing specified, where to upload? who will be notified? And micro functions as "Hide" and "Share " added
